PROVIDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE LONG-TERM UNEMPLOYED
We aim to offer support and education to the long-term unemployed
As Social Bums grows, so does the community support we can offer. We aim to offer education and employment opportunities within our business to the long-term unemployed. Work within our warehouse, logistics and administration team will be some of the opportunities soon available.
IMPROVING MENTAL HEALTH
We're working to create a better understanding in the community
around the types of triggers that cause mental health problems
We believe it's important to keep the conversation open around mental health, to help understand how we can support and even prevent some of the symptoms that can lead to homelessness.
EDUCATING OUR COMMUNITY
We believe in ethical living and sustainable futures
Our products have been developed with an ethical and sustainable future in mind - which we hope inspires other businesses to make socially conscious choices too.
OUR CHARITY PARTNERS
50% of all our profits are donated to our charity partners - Launch Housing and Orange Sky. We've chosen to partner with these great organisations as their missions align closely with ours. We believe everybody deserves a place to call home.
Launch Housing is an independent Melbourne based community organisation passionately committed to ending homelessness. From providing high quality housing and an innovative range of support, education and employment services, we bring solutions to homelessness under one roof for thousands at risk of, or experiencing the crisis and trauma of homelessness. With over 400 staff working across 14 locations in metropolitan Melbourne, we combine direct action with advocacy, research and innovation to drive widespread change.
Orange Sky is a non-profit organisation providing free mobile laundry and shower services to people experiencing homelessness. Each week, thousands of volunteers give their time to help positively connect some of the 116,000 Australians doing it tough. The focus is on creating a safe, positive and supportive environment for people who are too often ignored or feel disconnected from the community. Over the past five years, Orange Sky has completed 1,354,00kg of laundry and provided more than 13,500 showers to people in need.
